Lovely Spaces / Two Cedars

Cubscout and I took a trip back east to Charlotte, NC last month to visit with my family. My parents live on Lake Norman (30 mins north of Charlotte), where they built their dream house back in 2007. They call it Two Cedars.

I love being in their house. It's open and bright, and you really can't beat afternoon coffee (...or margaritas...) on the balcony overlooking the lake. This is the home in which Brian and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner, I dressed for my wedding, and Cubscout was baptized on the dock this past December. It's a sacred place to me. My mom is a talented decorator, and I just have to share pics of the house with y'all. So go grab a lil' sweet tea and put your feet up, Sugar.

Welcome to Two Cedars!

The stucco and hand laid stonework is a beautiful pairing and textural contrast.

I want these garage doors!!!

The front door opens to the living room with vaulted ceilings. It's perfect for the 18' Christmas tree!
(I need to practice my photography skills. Photo is a little crooked. Sorry Ma...)

Kitchen table. I just realized I never took a photo of the kitchen! Next time...

The window seat serves as additional storage.

I love the Brazilian cherry inlay wood border around the dining room. It helps to distinguish
the dining from open living room space and mimics the idea of an area rug.

Master Bedroom

Mom had this chair reupholstered to go with her new bedding. It turned out great!

Fully stocked kitchen and bar on the lower level. Built in wine cellar behind the glass door.
The antique theater seats came from the Tally Ho Theater in Leesburg, VA; about 15 mins north
of the town I grew up in. My parents scored these during the theater renovation!

One of the two guest rooms. I love the crisp white plantation shutters.

Lake Norman

I helped my mom clean out and redesign her craft room and will be sharing photos later today!
